Vulnerability scanning

This is a module within the Lynis Enterprise suite.

Vulnerability scanning is the module that checks what components are available related to the discovery of vulnerabilities. Although Lynis is not primarily focus on vulnerability scanning, it might pick up known weaknesses. These weaknesses might present themselves in configuration flaws, but also with the help of the package manager to flag relevant security updates.

Where to find it?

Parts of this module can be found in the Reporting. Use a relevant vulnerability report to see which systems have known vulnerabilities. The available of the reports and data depends on the options offered by the Linux distribution and its package manager.
